Smoky weddings.
Attended a family wedding tday. Since Momma's outta town and Dad's unwell, had to go with my aunt. Marriages of tday are so pompous and weird. Imagine sitting in front of a fire (not a nice campfire, mind you), lot of smoke for 3-4 hours and all those ceremonies.....oooh...tough to imagine...thank GOD it needs to be done only once in a lifetime. But the one positive point tho'..marriages leave one happier...glad tht it's finally over and done with. Whew!.... :D
This wedding was like any other. Bored bridegroom, tired bride, plastic smiles, irritating camera man, flashing lights, over dressed matrons, under dressed salads...BUT the food was YUM! Got a few nagging comments from irritating relatives on how little I know of my religion and my religious duties...so what??? Do I go and drown myself in a drum full of dhokla batter......???!! Grrrr.........

When you click on the Comments link, it would look better if you took the user to an intermediary page which shows the comments in your themed page.
If you wanna do that then modify your template (search for class="comment-link) to include the below hyperlink code:
<-a c-l-a-s-s="comment-link" href="<$BlogItemPermalinkURL$>#comments"><$BlogItemCommentCount$> comments<-/-a>
Remove the hypens(-) above - had to put those since Blogger doesn't like those html in the comments.
Cheers.

I've given up attending marriages now. The only reason I used to go was for food...FREE FOOD...hehehe
I remember the last wedding reception I attended here, it was of my classmates elder sister. I went with my dad and bro. Soon after bride kisssed the groom, everyone was asked to move towards the buffet section. I told my dad, its gonna take me 2 hrs atlesat to try out all "options" available there. So you can go n pass on my greetings to her. Bye bye
Hehehe... I know thts weird.

A wedding, according to me, shud be a quiet ceremony. It should be along with family members and friends. I don't believe in the hue and cry the big weddings generate.
Getting married is a good thing and it should be religiously followed. You reach a stage in life when you need someone more than a friend to share your thoughts, feelings and secrets (not leaving out taking out your frustrations too.) A good friend in your spouse is what is essential. If you can't be friends you can't be life partners. There has to be a good and smooth communication. There has to be chemistry involved too. The presence of the girl and boy should give a chemical reaction not just produce results of salt and water.
After all MARRIAGE is just not a word..it's a sentence..LIFE SENTENCE! *winks*

Marriage is more of a festival than an event. I think the ONLY reason ppl (like us) attend weddings is 'cause of FREE Food! :D
I feel we have become too objective. Quite/Noise I do not know how does it matter. There must have been a time when fire was worshipped and its blessings worked too. Todays man has grown OUT. GROWN OUT really and not grown up because we still have this idea of quite ceremony, we have ideas something quite quite outside us, what about the peace with in ? We complain about the noise and we say the food was yum, we are a part of such ceremonies not because we want to be but because of obligations and yeah sometimes for the free food !!! Some find exhibitionism in all this . . . and there are those who talk "Getting married is a good thing and it should be religiously followed", Forgetting that religion and religious following offers nothing today. And in fact religion and religious following has been such a failure, what has it given us? - such lack of faith in itself?
we have a generation that has given us fear and doubt and insecurity and we are what we are.
I think wedding should be wedding from with in human hearts, Everything else thats outside and visible is nothing (relatively speaking)
I think we should be a part of a ceremony from with in, or else we might think we sound radical but in fact we are fooling none but ourselves. Its all about what we are with in.
and our comments show how ignorant we are
